What developers and brokerages look for when hiring real-estate consultants in Egypt, and how to present yourself

Job ads published in Egypt in 2026 by developers and a brokerage asked for communication and negotiation skills, logging follow ups in a CRM, and 6 months to 6 years of experience depending on the level; one of them asked for excellent English. On top of that, registration in the official real-estate brokers' register has been a condition for practising since amendments issued in January 2026.

There is no single official list that every developer and brokerage in Egypt follows, so instead of claiming "most companies want X", we went back to real job ads published in 2026, from developers and from a brokerage, and read exactly what they asked for. The short version: communication and negotiation, organised work in a CRM, experience that varies with the level, and, in one of them, excellent English. On the job itself you will also need to explain numbers and payment plans to clients clearly. Before any of that comes your legal status: registration in the real-estate brokers' register.

Who hires real-estate consultants?

There are two main kinds of employer:

  • Brokerages, which sell units from different developers' projects. For example, a Property Consultant ad Nawy published on 24 September 2026 described the role as coordinating between clients and developers during negotiation and contracting.
  • Developers, which have in-house sales teams and also work with brokerages. For example, Daily News Egypt reported on 26 July 2026 that Alhejaz Gardens' new chief commercial officer said its plan includes expanding partnerships with real-estate brokerage firms and strengthening both direct and indirect sales channels.

Real-estate marketing agencies hire too. The employer type shapes the job: at a brokerage you present many projects and compare them for the client; on a developer's sales team you go deep into one company's projects.

What do real job ads ask for?

This table comes from three published ads, as examples, not a market-wide generalisation. Job ads expire, so the date shown is the publication date:

AdExperience askedMain requirements
Junior Real Estate Sales Specialist at Bright City Developments, Zahraa El Maadi (published on Wuzzuf on 6 July 2026)At least 1 year in the real-estate sectorExperience selling commercial, administrative and medical projects (mandatory), communication, persuasion and negotiation
Senior Sales Executive, commercial real estate, at CLD Developments, New Cairo (published on Wuzzuf on 16 August 2026)4 to 6 years in commercial real-estate salesBachelor's in business, marketing, real estate or a related field, commercial market knowledge, strong negotiation and presentation
Property Consultant at Nawy (a brokerage), New Cairo (published on 24 September 2026)6 months in real-estate salesCommunication and negotiation, excellent written and spoken English, a target-driven, deal-closing mindset

Tasks that appeared in both the CLD and the Nawy ads: viewings and client meetings, negotiating through to the contract, and logging contacts and follow ups in a CRM. The Nawy ad added following the market and new projects, understanding the client's needs and goals, and seeing contract paperwork through.

The legal condition comes before skills

According to Ahram Gate on 27 April 2026, the January 2026 amendments to the executive regulations of the commercial agency law made registration in the official register of real-estate brokers, held by the General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC), a condition for practising, and registration requires passing specialised training. Daily News Egypt reported in July 2026 that the mandatory training covers the legal framework, the code of conduct, contract drafting and anti-money laundering. If you are registered, say so on your CV. If not, get the steps from GOEIC. More in how to start as a real-estate consultant in Egypt.

How to write your CV

These are general practical tips, not taken from any one company:

  • Put your numbers first if you have experience: deals closed, areas and unit types. A real number beats an adjective like "excellent salesperson".
  • Name the areas you know well, such as New Cairo or the North Coast.
  • State your languages at their real level. The Nawy ad published on 24 September 2026, for example, asked for excellent written and spoken English.
  • If you come from another field (banking, sales, customer service), show the skill you bring across, such as negotiation or handling clients.
  • If you apply to a developer that sells one product type, like the commercial, administrative and medical projects in the Bright City ad, name your experience with that type.
  • List your brokers' register entry or the courses you completed.

The interview: what to expect and how to prepare

An interview will likely test what the ad asks for. Prepare for these:

  1. Calculating a payment plan in front of them. If asked "a unit at this price, 10% down and the rest over 8 years quarterly, what is the installment?", answer with confidence. Review how a down payment and installments are calculated.
  2. Handling an objection, such as "the installment is too high" or "someone else offered it cheaper". See how to present a payment plan and answer objections.
  3. Comparing two offers. You may be asked to explain the difference between two offers to a client. Review how to compare two developer offers.
  4. Knowing the terms: DP, delivery, resale, over, maintenance deposit. The consultant's client questions glossary gives you short answers.

Illustrative example with hypothetical numbers

Suppose the question is: a unit at EGP 5,000,000, 10% down, the rest over 8 years in equal quarterly installments, with no maintenance deposit and no discount.

Down payment = 5,000,000 × 10% = EGP 500,000 Remaining = 5,000,000 - 500,000 = EGP 4,500,000 Number of installments = 8 years × 4 = 32 Quarterly installment = 4,500,000 ÷ 32 = EGP 140,625

This example is for practice only. Results are planning estimates; the developer contract sets the final amounts.

Frequently asked questions

Do developers require previous experience?

It depends on the role. In the three ads we reviewed, requirements were at least 1 year for a junior role at Bright City Developments (July 2026), 6 months for a Property Consultant role at Nawy (September 2026), and up to 4 to 6 years for a senior commercial real-estate role at CLD Developments (August 2026).

Is English necessary?

Of the three ads we reviewed, only the Nawy ad asked outright for excellent written and spoken English; the CLD and Bright City ads did not mention language in their requirements. Check the ad in front of you and state your real level.

Do I need to be in the brokers' register if I work for a company?

According to Ahram Gate in April 2026, the amendments require everyone working in real-estate brokerage to register as a condition of practice. Ask your employer and GOEIC about your own case, depending on your role.

How do I present myself as a fresh graduate?

All three ads we reviewed asked for prior experience, so read the conditions before you apply and look for ads that accept fresh graduates. Stress communication and negotiation, which all three ads asked for, and be ready to calculate a payment plan and explain at least one area well.

What are the salary and commission?

We found no reliable, dated source with market-wide salary or commission figures, so we give none. Ask for the commission scheme and targets in writing before you accept an offer.
